About Ashley
I am Ashley Orenshteyn, an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant and Family Nurse Practitioner. As a wife and mother of two breastfed children, my journey in nursing, particularly as a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) nurse, has profoundly shaped my current path.
Career Background
Working in the NICU was an incredibly inspiring experience. I cared for the most vulnerable neonates, witnessing their strength and resilience despite facing daily adversities like frequent medical procedures and separation from their parents. I saw firsthand how families providing their milk to their neonates bridged the gap between mother and baby. This act allowed families to continue parenting their infants in the NICU, offering them life-saving expressed breast milk.
Passion
My passion for the mother-baby dyad grew even more after having my own children. This led me to pursue a career as a Family Nurse Practitioner, where I now provide comprehensive healthcare services to both mothers and babies, along with specialized lactation care.
